Since 2018, the Dagesh Art Prize has been awarded by the Jewish Museum Berlin and Dagesh – Jewish Art in Context. Its aim is to make new and diverse Jewish contemporary positions and the hybrid identities of Jewish artists visible. A harmonious Jewish plurality is by no means assumed. On the contrary: as diverse as Jewish life is today in Germany, so too are the works submitted by artists. They engage with contemporary discourses and issues, as well as the question of how we can and want to live together. In doing so, they continually explore, stage, and communicate new and unusual perspectives.
