Pavel Franzusov was born in Kiev, Ukraine, in 1980. He emigrated to Germany with his family at the age of 13.
Franzusov studied philosophy, mathematics and sociology at the University of Heidelberg and went on to complete a doctorate in philosophy on the contemporary approach to death.
Pavel Franzusov has been working as a freelance video artist and filmmaker since 2007. For Franzusov, art means searching for answers in places where science remains silent. With his work, he tries to find new forms of dialog. Very often, the aim of his art is to offer new perspectives on the social problems of our time.
The artist lives and works in Berlin.
