Or Shemesh was born in 1981 in Be’er Sheva, Israel, and is currently a master student of composition at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theater in Leipzig. Shemesh holds an M.A. degree from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and a B.Mus degree from the University of Tel-Aviv. He has won several prizes and scholarships and his compositions have been performed at various events in Europe and Israel. Shemesh has been living in Berlin since 2013 and is an ELES research fellow.
