Mati Shemoelof is a multilingual writer, poet, author, curator, and activist. He has published twelve books in Israel and Germany, including seven poetry collections. His diverse body of work spans fiction, poetry, plays, articles, texts for art exhibitions, short stories, and more. His first publication in Germany was the bilingual poetry collection Baghdad | Haifa | Berlin (AphorismA Verlag, 2019), followed by Das kleine Boot in meiner Hand nenn ich Narbe: Gedichte (Parasitenpresse, 2023). In 2024, he was awarded a stipend from the Deutscher Literaturfonds to write his first poetry book in German. His most recent book, the poetry collection It’s This Happiness, You Wanted Me to Touch, was published in Israel and won the Rabinovitch Grant for the Arts in 2024. In 2025, his first novel will be published in Germany by Palm Art Press Verlag.
