The composer and singer Rosa Morena Russa, Kateryna Ostrovska (Rosa Morena Russa), was born in southern Russia into a Jewish family of musicians, grew up in Ukraine, and lives in Hamburg. She has released six albums—one featuring modern klezmer music and five presenting a unique blend of Eastern European music, jazz, and Brazilian folklore. She performs and produces in Rio and São Paulo, and also appears in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States, and South Korea.
